The term "everyday pan" refers to an all-purpose pan that excels in a variety of situations, but it could just as easily describe the frequency with which youll use this Calphalon beauty. Featuring an elegantly rounded body with twin helper handles and a tempered glass lid, the Contemporary Nonstick 12-inch pan sears, browns, and sauts vegetables and meats with little effort, while also serving as a quasi-casserole for such dishes as jambalaya or stroganoff. Its curved sides can even accommodate whisks to replicate the function of a large saucier. And, like all Calphalon Contemporary Nonstick cookware, this pan is designed to sit confidently on the dinner table with other serving dishes and dinnerware. If anything, this pans graceful countenance enhances rather than detracts from your place settings.
Contemporary Nonstick cookware is made of durable hard-anodized aluminum, delivering quick, even heating on the stovetop or in the oven. It also includes an exclusive nonstick coating that wont chip, peel, or flake, and--most importantly for many consumers--that cleans easily. The brushed stainless-steel handles stay cool on the stovetop and are riveted to the sides for durability. You might see many other pan sets for fewer dollars than this one pan however, it is exactly what it says: 12" everyday pan. You name it and you have a pan for you regardless of what you are cooking. Now I readily admit to keeping the old man of the house from putting his mitts on my pan but we have our reasons. Mine happens to be it is my pan and if he wants to use one he has to use his everyday pan. Yes, he enjoys his as well. He, however, does not mind my using it because I at least know how to cook a few things. Sincerely, this is a fine pan and the nonstick part is accurate. Stuff just does not stick. Even the old man can cook and not have it stick on his or mine. If something should happen to this one you can count on my buying another shortly after the disaster.

I often wonder what I did before I bought this pan, since I use it almost every day. It is so easy to clean, its big enough to cook almost anything and I love that it goes from the stove to the oven.
I know its completely illogical, but having such a wonderful, pretty pan has made me feel more confident about cooking and I am more inclined to experiment with new recipes. Now, I just need a new set of knives....

I have had two of these and they are great. Easy to cook with a clean up is a breeze. This is a great everyday pan, buy one. The one down side is that using it everyday and despite taking care of it, I have sent two of these back to calphalon for warranty replacement.
Poor rating due to receiving damaged/poor quality product

I ordered this pan on two separate occasions from Amazon. Product was advertised as new. Both were received with clear degeneration/defect in the non-stick coating. I wasnt willing to risk a third attempt. If youre purchasing, Id recommend another seller than Amazon.
A truly everyday pan

This pan is great because it is large but it is extremely light and absolutely nonstick. It has two small handles making the transporting very comfortable. The glass lid lets you see how cooking and browning is going without lifting it. I recommended it to one of my friends that has two residences in different states and she was so happy with it that she bought one for each kitchen.
