A huge Enya fan, I was disappointed in this album after the long wait. Its way too Christmasy for me. It also seemed uninspired, and lacking the usual few outstanding songs that make her albums worth buying even if only one song was one of her best.
Ive only played it once, so hopefully some songs will grow on me as they tend to do....I first heard her once, not paying attention, and months later I heard her again and a light went on in my brain! Her music had been percolating into my soul for a while.
Dont let me put you off. Keep an open mind and maybe your first listen will be fine. At least its not a compilation of her old stuff. If youre an Enya fan, you gotta have it anyway, of course! )

This album is quite nice. Im partial to tracks 4 (O Come, O Come Emanuel) 7 (Last Time by Moonlight) and last but absolutely not least 11 (My! My! Time Flies)
I suggest on the last track of the CD to read the lyrics after a couple listens as they are fairly softly sung. And I love the way its sung about wonderful events without explicitly naming them! This wonderful approach I believe and feel deepens the feeling in the song.

I really love Enyas Christmas cd. Its unique in sound and very happy and soothing at the same time. Everyone else is coming up with Christmas albums that feature the usual songs. Although Enya has the traditional "O Come, O Come Emmanuel" I like the way the chorus wells up in the song. I also like the way they sang "Silent Night" in celt. The gems are the lovely "Journey of the Angels" and "Trains and Winter Rains". If you are adverse to listening to Christmas cds, then think of this as Enyas winter cd ... that takes into account that Christmas is celebrated at this time.
